This is a revamped version of [link]

I had said "I'll probably go back to this and add some touch ups, since the magazine doesn't come out until the Spring."
But it's gone much further than that. I had to redo the hair, the wings, and a few other touch ups @__@;;
I think I'm happy with this for now. I think I'll go insane if I work on it for much longer.

:bulletgreen: I drew the picture for the cover of my school's literary magazine, called The Spectrum. I started off with two globes, and I just wanted them to eclipse each other. However that seemed a bit boring, and it doesn't seem to illustrate the word spectrum to the fullest. I went further with the picture, adding more and more concepts.

The smaller globe that comes from the flower represents the physical world/the Earth. Although it continues to grow, there is a world much larger than the physical.

The second globe represents the imagination and creativity. A spectrum of ideas run through the imagination, and can take a person anywhere, from mountain tops, to the ocean, or even my school :lol: (oiye..that last part is so corny).

Most importantly all these ideas are connected and integrated. Although the world of the imagination and the physical world start off separately, they can grow into one.

The deity is a watcher over these ideas. As she flies through a void, she protects and guides these ideas underneath her wing(s). As a watcher she represents any human being with an inner conflict, especially people like us (artists, writers, people more in tune with their creative senses).

We try to balance our artistic senses with the physical, but at times it feels like it'd be easier to just break away from one of them. We know we can't escape the physical world (hence the tree connected to her wing), so we tend to go after the holder of the imagination. But it's too precious to break apart, so instead we continue to hold the world (and essentially life) underneath our wings.

That is what the Spectrum is.
